Jammin'

My mom got these DVD's for Zack called "Playdates". It is really cute and Zack loved it! It is just a bunch of little kids playing together and lots of fun music. Zack was fascinated and he spent most of the time dancing as he watched the show. It was so cute! Of course as soon as I get out the video camera he always stops. You get the jist of his dancing from this but he was dancing a lot crazier before I started filming him. He's so funny!
P.S. I'll probably be posting a lot of movies from now on. It is a good way to help my nephews that moved to California remember Zackie.
P.S.S. The other little boy in the movie is Eric. I babysit him sometimes, he's a cutie too but didn't get quite as excited about the movie

Traditions

One of our family traditions is that we all meet at my grandpa's (my dad's dad) grave. The whole extended family comes and we take pictures and then go to Apollo Burger to eat. This year I really loved Memorial Day because all the radio stations and news were talking about all the soldiers that are out fighting for our country right now. There were lots of patriotic songs being played and people talking about how grateful they are for this country. I must admit that I have always taken everything for granted but having my brother Richie in Iraq really makes me think about things more seriously. I was already having lots of fun with my family and to make it even better Richie called me from Iraq to wish me a Happy Birthday. We got to talk for a little while and it was AWESOME to hear from him! He is incredibly busy over there, he barely gets any breaks at all. He is just always going and going. He was telling me that part of his "mission" over there is to help raise awareness over here about what is really going on with the troops and Iraqi's. He is working with reporter to see if he can get him to help print some of "the real stories". He has also sent us a huge list of service projects that can be done to help out over there. It is a big list with lots of options and it is pretty much limitless. They always need more help. So if anyone is interested in getting their wards involved or doing something small on your own then let me know! He sent a huge list with lots of ideas! ANY help will go a long way. Anyway, it was a great day. It was awesome to spend time with the family and finally be able to talk with Richie! Also, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday. I feel so loved! :)

Mother's Day

In honor of Mother's Day I want to use this post to brag about how cute my child is! He is changing and growing SOOOO fast now! He is talking constantly, he's a little parrot and repeats lots of the words he hears. His favorite toys are balloons and brooms. The kid is amazing, little did I know but there are three brooms from our front to door the mailbox. The neighbors keep them in their garages and Zack can spot a broom from a mile away. The second we walk out our front door he runs to the nearest broom. He is also quite good at spotting them in grocery stores. He also loves balloons. Pretty much any time he is really excited about something or wants to tell me he likes something he says balloon. That is by far the cutest word he says!
He is quite the chatter box these days though. I'm not sure if any of you care but since I sorta use my blog as a journal as well I thought I'd share with you all the words he says now. So here's the list: Ball, Balloon, More (mostly when he's eating but other times too...he uses that word whenever he wants me to get something for him), Dog, shoe, Tree, Bear, Bradley (his cousin, it comes out ba-ba), baby, eye, bubble, broom (of course), bonk (like when he bonks his head), boom (if he falls). He also makes a few animal noises: ruff ruff, ooo-ooo-ooo -ah-ah-ah (monkey), baaaa (sheep), and he snorts for a pig. He just learned that today and it is pretty funny! I am sure there are definitely words I am missing. He copies a lot of words but I only wrote the ones he has officially associated with something and says on his own.
The other cute thing he does that I just love is the way he plays. He loves pots and pans, cords of any sort, pretty much any dishes, he'll sit and eat imaginary food with a spoon and bowl and he loves to dance and twirl. He also sings along with music...it is so cute! It is just a steady tone, more like a long yell. But it is pretty cute. And my favorite thing is that he just loves his daddy. All day long he'll look around the house saying "da-da" wondering where he is at. Then when Trent gets home from work he gets so excited he can barely handle it and then he wants Trent to hold him the rest of the night. (He doesn't really like being held anymore either...he loves to run around and play on his own). So ya, this was my brag post about how sweet and wonderful Zack is. I love being a mom more than anything in the world!

Sorry It's Sideways!

So I'm a retard and took this video sideways with my camera. I forgot that it isn't quite as simple to flip a video right side up as it is a picture! Ooops. If anyone knows how to flip it let me know! But it's so cute I had to post it anyway.

Zack's New Form of Entertainment!

He just spins until he falls down then gets up and does it again. It is pretty funny!

Happy Birthday Trent!

On May 2nd Trent turned 24! Can you believe it? What an old man! :) We had a birthday barbecue with our families and some of Trent's best friends. It was lots of fun! In honor of Trent's birthday Zack learned to say "balloon". It is the cutest word I've heard him say, it sounds like "balloooo". He thinks balloons are just the coolest thing ever!
Zack is also in a new phase where he has to be Mr. Independent. He doesn't want to be held, he wants to walk. He doesn't want us to feed him, he wants to feed himself. He doesn't want us to change his diaper, he wants to go in the toilet. Ok, never mind about that last one...but it would be nice! You'll notice the picture with yogurt all over his face? Yep, that is his version of feeding himself. About 50% in the mouth and the other 50% all over his face. He's so funny!
