It was meant to be...

Remember the BYU football game against the Aggies a week ago? Thanks to T's awesome parents we had tickets! However, fate just seemed to be working against us, we couldn't find babysitters for our kids and had no idea what to do about it. After much deliberation we decided to take the kids, I was VERY apprehensive about this idea since it went much later than their bedtime and Ben isn't exactly a fan of being squished in small places for ANY period of time!
WELL, it turned out to be the perfect night out for our family! Not only was a it a super close and very fun game to watch but they had STAR WARS characters there!!
(sorry about my crappy quality iphone pics!)
Trent and Zack were walking around the stadium and bumped into a guy dressed in full costume as a Storm Trooper! Zack was surprised to say the least, and shocked that they were REAL, hehe. :) Comcast was there with Cartoon Network doing pics in front of a green screen and then you could spin a wheel and try to win a Light Saber. Zack and Trent went through first:
Zack had never even been introduced to the concept of winning something and when Trent explained to him how it would work Zack just kept asking over and over again "so if I spin it onto the right spot then I get to keep the light sabor for forever, like I get to take it home!?" When he didn't win his little heart was broken!
When I came out and found Trent and Zack we decided to go through one more time so we could get a pic of Ben and Zack together and give Ben a spin at the wheel to see if we could win. Guess what!? We DID!!! Zack was ECSTATIC, to say the least! Not the we really need another lightsabor around our house...but he was SO SO happy and excited. It was fun to see how excited it made him! :)
It was the perfect game for us to bring him to! Last big surprise of all, even Ben LOVED the game! It took him a half hour or so before he got over his terror of the big loud crowd but once we was used to it he loved screaming and clapping right along with everyone!
BYU won the game in the last few seconds of 4th quarter, it was the perfect game to go to and even MORE fun because we had our kids with us!! :)

Benni Boo

Ben is in the stage recently explained to me as "the maximum cuteness stage." Pretty much meaning he can get away with almost anything and even when there is frustration involved the whole event ends with me thinking "he's so cute!"
Recently he has learned how to make facial expressions for each emotion. Of
course, I am giddy with pride every time he does it so I got out my trusty camera, took some pics, and now want to brag relentlessly to all of you about how cute it is when he does it!
Happy
Sad
Surprised (My Personal Favorite)Mad (much more interesting in person...he growls along with the angry face)
Ben is at the stage where he'll attempt to repeat pretty much anything you ask him too. The words he doesn't know how to say, he just makes something up for (usually it doesn't even resemble the word you said!) I'll admit it, from 12-18 months he has been rather...difficult. But with his new ability to understand and communicate he has grown into this silly, fun, and extraordinarily loving little boy! Here's a movie of him talking...in case you just wanted to see his cuteness in action!
Sorry about the bumpiness and crappy quality, I took it in the car today...

Who needs utinsels when you've got a toothbrush!?

Trent left his toothbrush sitting on the counter next to Ben's high chair and the next thing we know Ben was eating with it!
If we'd let him, Ben would carry a toothbrush around with him everywhere. Needless to say, we've had to replace many toothbrushes since his fascination with them started!

Concert fun!

Meet Carly:She and I have been friends for a long,Long,Time! We went to Jr. High and Highschool together but didn't officially become friends until we were roommates in college.
With some other
very awesome,Girls!
Moving away from eachother, and time has done nothing to hinder our forever bond!
Anyway...the reason I am blogging about her is because as a birthday gift she took me on a road trip with her and going to the Alison Krauss concert in Boise. Carly introduced me to Allison Krauss (along with a TON of other awesome musicians!) and we listened to her nonstop during college.
It was too perfect, girls trip just for the 2 of us!
The concert was AMAZING!What you hear on her CD is exactly what you get live, I don't think I heard a single mistake the whole time. Seriously, she has an amazing voice! But I must admit, by favorite part was getting an entire day to hang out with Carly with no kids to interrupt our fun! :)

Baby Nelson

We're having a boy!!Sorry, no "here's the proof" pics, it just doesn't seem right!:)
But here's one of him waving to ya!I have to admit, I was TOTALLY hoping for a girl. The whole pregnancy I've felt like it might be another boy but I was keeping my fingers crossed for a girl anyway! The great news...we will have very little prep to do to get ready for him to join the family. We've got boy clothes coming out our ears, the nursery is decorated for a boy, all we really have to do it get him a more updated car seat!
I am so excited to have 3 little boys in my home, Trent says I'm a good "boy mom" and I do LOVE how crazy, spirited, and silly my 2 sweet boys are. All we need is for them to get their dad's height and we'll have a pro basketball team right in our own home! :)

Zack's back to preschool!

Zack's first day back to preschool was today. I put him in afternoon this year and I'm pretty sure today was the LONGEST day of his short life. He woke up early this morning asking if he could go to preschool right then! 5 hours is a VERY long time to wait for an excited 4 year old! :)

Elephant ear...

"Mom, why is my ear so floppy!?"
"Because you got a bug bite remember Zack?"
"Ohhh...that's so cool! It's like have an elephant ear!!"I have to admit, I was not quite so entertained by Zack's elephant ear! Took him to the doc this morning and I guess it's pretty common for your kid's cheek and ear to swell like a balloon after a bug bite. I'm happy to report the swelling is going down and his elephant ear should be gone withing a day or two! :)Stand by (probably for awhile!:) for reports on our fun camping trip we took over the weekend! :)
