Vacation at home...

So the last week and a half has been very eventful and I have no idea how to write about it all! First off I'll start with a little story: While we were living in LA last summer I went to a "mom's club" so I could meet some people and not be lonely all summer. Well, I didn't click very well in the "club" but that is where I met Jennifer. She is my age and has a little girl named Isabella that is exactly four days older than Zack. We connected pretty quick and we've stayed in touch ever since. Jennifer, her boyfriend Frank, and Isabella all came to visit us last week and we had a blast! We did lots of touristy things like going to Temple Square and Park City and eating at the delicious restaurants only known to Utah. Of course I had to take them to Cafe Rio (which they loved so much they had to go back a second time!), Wingers, and Training Table. We were also lucky enough to have them around on Easter Sunday and they were good sports and came to our family dinner where Joanne made a delicious Turkey dinner. We even had an Easter egg hunt and the eggs were filled with Kix & Captain Crunch. Very baby friendly food. Of course the older kids found all the eggs but the babies got to keep them because as you might guess the kids weren't all that excited about what they found inside.
We also had a baby shower for Trisha which turned out great. She got lots of cute little girl clothes and it was so fun to see everyone and play silly baby shower games.
Then the day after Jennifer and Frank left Trent went out of town to a competition called AITP. It was in Memphis, Tennessee. He went with several other BYU students who are in the Information Systems major and they compete against schools all across the nation. It is pretty crazy though, he competed for four hours Thursday night after traveling all day. Then ten hours, almost straight through, on Friday. Then he got to spend Saturday morning being a tourist and a long awards ceremony that night. They won one of the awards, not as great as last year but still good. Not exactly my idea of fun but Trent really enjoyed it! :) Well, it is long but that is the latest on our family. I hope you didn't fall asleep while reading.
Oh wait! One more funny story! Today I was just hanging out with Zack in our family room while he was playing and suddenly I look over and see he had fallen into one of our baskets. He wasn't crying or anything. He just sat there, completely stuck wondering what to do. It was so funny I had to run upstairs and crab my camera. He wasn't happy about that but at least I got a cute picture of it!

Questions about me & Trenty

How long have you been together? We have been married 2 years. But on in 4 days it will be exactly 6 years since we had our first kiss! How cute!
How long did you date? well, we became friends in our sophomore year of high school but didn't start dating until senior year, off and on. Then there was that whole mission thing i
n between. So who knows exactly.
How old is he? 23, his Birthday is May 2nd
Who eats more? Trenter

Who said I Love You First? Ya know I have no idea. I always knew he loved me though, he isn't very good at hiding it. That is one of the things I love about him!

Who is taller? Trent by far.
Who sings better? Definitely Trent, I refuse to sing in front of him because it really bugs him when I am off key. So I only sing to Zackie in private :)
Who is smarter? I'd have to say Trent again, why would I marry someone dumber than me. That would be stupid! Wait, so does that make Trent stupid?

Who does the laundry? Definitely me, last time he folded the laundry he put all my clothes away inside out and all his clothes right side out. That punk!
Who does the dishes? I do most often because I have more time. But he is good about helping out when I need it.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Trent
Who pays the bills? Our bank does automatic bill pay...it's awesome! But Trent is in charge of checking to make sure everything is correct.
Who mows the lawn? Neither of us, it is part of the condo association fee.

Who cooks dinner? Me, Trent is happy that I'll be cooking for him more often now that I'm finally quitting work!

Who is more stubborn? I definitely think I am. Trent
is always the first to apologize and give me a hug. He is such a wonderful husband! I'll be honest, I'm way too stubborn sometimes!
Who kissed who first? Well, he went in to kiss me and it surprised me so much that I dodged it. After he felt totally rejected I proceeded to tell him "I'm so in love with you just kiss me now!" Although that is what he was trying to do in the first place I'm sure the "I'm so in love with you" was nice to hear along with the kiss!
Who asked who out? He asked me
Who proposed? He did.
Who is more sensitive? My first
response is me but I think Trent is just better at hiding it
Who has more friends? we don't compete :)

Who has more siblings? me, I have three, he has one.

Lots of news for our family

So our lives have taken a drastic turn in the last week. Trent interviewed and got an AWESOME job with a company called STG. It is a software consulting firm. Many of you know Mike Gibby, our cousin Melanie's husband, and one of Trent's closest friends. He is a project manager for the church's IT department. Trent is lucky enough to be able to Java development on Mike's team. We are pretty excited about it. >It is a 30 hour a week job until he graduates.
The other crazy change is my brother Richie left to Iraq last night. He'll be on a 15 month rotation so we aren't going to see him again for awhile. It has been so nice the last year and a half because he was working on his degree and was able to come to Utah to visit a lot. It is quit the change to know it'll be over a year before we see him again. Pretty sad actually. But on the plus side his wife Kira moved to Utah so we usually get to see her once a week for family dinners which is awesome. At least we get to have her close by!
Last but not least Zack, as you can see by the pictures, is walking like a crazy man! Actually he is getting pretty good at it! He falls a lot but he does great. We have had some friends we met in California out here to visit this week and they have a baby exactly Zack's age. It has been so fun to watch them play together. She's a great little walker so I think Zack gets some motivation from her. We'll definitely post some pics of them being here and their cute baby as soon as I get them all uploaded!
Well, Trent starts working March 31st so I'll be done with work by then. We are so excited but change is always a little overwhelming!

Happy Birthday Zackary!

Zackary was so lucky to have such a wonderful Birthday!! First he got an awesome early Birthday present that he got to meet his uncle Steve for first time! Steve got home from Japan where he has been serving his mission. Zackary instantly loved him, the first time Steve held him Zack just laid his head down on Steve's shoulder. He never does that to anyone. It was so precious, it was like he already knew him and was so glad to finally see him in person.
Then on his birthday he had lots of fun with all of our family there. He got to dig into his own yummy cake (which he LOVED). He also got lots of fun toys and clothes. He is so spoiled. Can you believe it!? My baby is turning into a toddler! Anyway, Happy Birthday Zackary! He is now one year old!

So lots of my friends have been asking me lately about digital scrapbooking. I decided to add a bunch of my favorite links to get cute and free stuff to download as get you started scrapbooking. Some of these links I like a lot better than others but all of them have lots of free stuff so they are all cool to check out. I hope this helps!

I am back!

Life has been SOOO busy for the last little while! I've been terrible at keeping up on my blog and there are so many interesting things to tell! First of all Zack is learning to walk! He can take 5-10 steps now before he falls down. It is so cute too because when he falls down he just laughs like it is a cool game or something.
He has also learned all kinds of new tricks. I got them all on video but I've been having issue with the format of my videos. We finally bought software to convert the movies and it is messing up my computer. GRRRRRR! So someday I'll post those videos if we ever get that software working. Anyway, Zack's tricks are: waving hi & bye, showing you where his head, mouth, and tummy are, putting his hands way up in the air whenever we say "yahoo!", and giving "head butt" kisses (instead of kissing you he hits his forhead against yours, it's pretty cute!). He is so much fun right now, he is learning all kinds of new tricks and he is always wanting to play. I just love this age for babies!
As for Trent and I there isn't a whole lot going on that is new. We are just sticking with the plan of San Jose, California this summer and Trent graduating in December. Yay!

Isn't he handsome?

This is a cute little Sunday outfit that I actually got a year ago at my baby shower and it finally fits him. Isn't it so cute? He looks so handsome all dressed up in his nice Sunday clothes! Just for an update...Zack's latest trick is he can stand all by himself for about 3 seconds. It is rare that he is brave enough to try it but when he does he falls flat on his butt after! I'm sure he'll catch on soon enough though!
